I attended your seminar in Long Beach last fall and just wanted to thank you for your research! Two of our pediatric patients who previously fell under the umbrella term of 'non-verbal' no longer fit that description. It's been an exciting journey for us all. Thank you again!
I appreciate learning practical ways to implement a new and evidence-based therapy especially in a way that can be combined with other techniques.
I was very fortunate to be able to attend one of your recent seminars in Illinois. It was the BEST seminar that I have ever attended! Thanks so very much! I am excited to implement this therapy method!
Hi Dr. Sandiford,
I attended your melodic based communication seminar in San Diego two weeks ago. I have tried the technique with our most severe girl and it is amazing! She is already clapping along to walk on. The first day she was fighting before getting on the horse and once I started to sing she started smiling. Today I decided to try singing about getting on the horse and she immediately jumped on without any issue. I cannot wait to continue to see her progression and I wanted to let you know. Thank you so much! I really learned a lot from the seminar!
Have a great night,
I feel like I can begin implementing in my therapy sessions tomorrow! Excellent presentation! I now understand the importance of musicality in speech and language therapeutic intervention!
A great presenter on a great topic! Highly recommended!
I am so excited to be using this app with my students. The students are drawn to the singing and are immediately engaged and attempting to sing along. It is an awesome feeling to be a part of a child's first word!
I have your app. . . and thought I'd let you know my experience so far! A non verbal kiddo (who babbles) absolutely loves it! Within a couple of weeks she start[ed] to say "done" and used "bye" appropriately! She's so encouraged by music and is starting to repeat words intentionally! It gets her attention right away and she wants to keep playing the animations! Thank you for creating Melodic Based Communication Therapy!
I serve a child with a rare genetic syndrome that looks like Autism. She is mostly nonverbal but has moments of sporadic and echolalic speech. So I played the "bye-bye" phrase and on cue she said /buhbi/ 3 out of the 5 times. . .. Two of my children on my caseload have responded positively to the app. Thanks a lot!
I am an SLP working for the school system so I come across parents of preschoolers who often question how their child's speech-language skills compare to typical children. This app can help parents see just that. It's easy to use and parents can get results fast. This would be great for pediatricians to use also! This will help one decide whether or not their child should be further tested by an SLP.
